Walking into a salon and asking for "a facial" is a bit like walking into a restaurant and asking for "food." There are dozens of options — each designed for a specific skin concern, skin type and result. The wrong facial can do very little; the right one can genuinely transform how your skin looks and feels. So let's break it down.
First: Know Your Skin Type
Before choosing a facial, identify your primary skin type and concern:
- Oily skin — enlarged pores, shine by mid-morning, prone to blackheads and acne.
- Dry skin — tight feeling, flakiness, dullness, visible fine lines.
- Combination skin — oily T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), dry or normal cheeks.
- Sensitive skin — redness, reactive to products, easily irritated.
- Normal skin — balanced, minimal issues, but benefits from regular maintenance.
Once you know your skin type, the right facial becomes much clearer. Here's our guide:
The Facials We Offer and Who They're For
Basic Clean-Up
A deep cleansing routine that removes surface dirt, exfoliates, steams the face and extracts blackheads. Includes a face massage and light moisturisation. Best for: All skin types, first-timers, monthly maintenance. Duration: 45 minutes.
Aroma Facial
A relaxing facial using essential oil-infused products. Focuses on circulation, stress relief and mild brightening. Best for: Normal to dry skin, those looking for a calming experience alongside skin benefits. Duration: 60 minutes.
O3+ Facial (Brightening / Anti-Tan / Anti-Acne)
Our most popular advanced facial range. O3+ products are dermatologically formulated and come in targeted variants — brightening for dull skin, anti-tan for sun damage, and anti-acne for oily and breakout-prone skin. Best for: Targeted skin concerns. Duration: 60–75 minutes.
Gold Facial
A luxury treatment using colloidal gold-infused products. Gold stimulates cell regeneration, reduces inflammation and leaves skin with a visible glow. Best for: Mature skin, special occasion prep, dull or tired-looking skin. Duration: 75 minutes.
Hydrating / De-Tan Facial
Focuses on restoring moisture to dehydrated skin and reversing sun-induced tanning. Best for: Dry, dehydrated skin or anyone with visible sun tan. Works well post-summer or after travel. Duration: 60 minutes.
How Often Should You Get a Facial?
Skin completes a natural renewal cycle roughly every 28 days, so once a month is the ideal frequency for most facials. If you're targeting a specific concern like acne or pigmentation, your skin therapist may recommend a more intensive protocol — such as 4–6 sessions of a targeted treatment spaced 2 weeks apart.
Take advantage of our 3+1 Free offer: book 3 facial sessions and the 4th is complimentary. It's our most popular way for clients to stay consistent with skin care.
What to Do Before and After a Facial
To get the best results from your facial, here are a few dos and don'ts:
- Before: Avoid exfoliating at home for 2–3 days before your appointment. Come with a clean face. Let your therapist know about any active breakouts, allergies or medications.
- After: Avoid makeup for at least 6–8 hours post-facial. Stay out of direct sun exposure and apply SPF the next day. Drink plenty of water to help the skin flush out toxins.
- Avoid: Threading, waxing or peeling treatments on the same day as your facial — skin is sensitised and prone to irritation.
Do Facials Work for Men Too?
Absolutely. Men's skin is typically oilier and thicker, with more active sebaceous glands and regular shaving causing micro-irritation. A clean-up or anti-acne facial done regularly makes a significant difference in managing oil, ingrown hairs and uneven texture. At Let's Flaunt, all our skin treatments are available for both men and women.
